All over the province of León people are fond of empanadas, from plain ones to others stuffed with distinct ingredients. In the west of El Bierzo region, their main ingredients are pepper and meat plus anything that our pocket and/or our imagination let us to add to them. In the Ancares (the mountains at the border with Galicia), however, they are keen on simplicity and prefer empanada to be made with rye dough and stuffed with marbled meat and vegetables.
